Teachers' Day is the morning the school turns the spotlight round: in India pupils dress up and take over the lessons, elsewhere the class decorates the board before the bell, and teachers walk in to flowers and handmade cards. A song can be the class's part of that morning — something everyone made together, playing the moment the teacher opens the door.
It doesn't take a music lesson. Write the teacher's name, what they teach and two or three things from this school year, and the lyrics are written around them, set to a melody and sung with real vocals in about a minute. Play it as the teacher walks in, post it in the class group, or send it to a teacher from years ago who has no idea you still remember.

“An upbeat, grateful Teachers' Day song from class 5B to Mrs. Patel, our science teacher. She always says “ask why, not what”, runs the Thursday science club where our volcano erupted onto the head teacher's shoes, and took us to the planetarium in March. This is her twentieth year at our school. Bright pop the whole class can sing, with “Thank you, Mrs. Patel” in the chorus.”
This school year in a few lines: the topic everyone struggled with in autumn and finally got, the trip, the class play, the exam season.
How your class marks the day — the decorated board, the flowers on the desk, the pupils teaching the lesson for once. The song can describe that very morning.
A line in the teacher's own subject: a chemistry formula that rhymes, a date from history, a phrase in the language they teach.
Names from the class register, or one word from each pupil, so thirty voices end up in one song.
What they did outside the timetable: the play rehearsals, the chess club, the lunch breaks spent helping someone catch up.
If it is their first Teachers' Day at your school, or their last before retiring, say so — the chorus can be built around it.
One honest thank-you without a joke attached. Teachers rarely hear exactly what they changed.
Thank you, Mrs. Patel, for the chalk and the patience,
for every second chance and every explanation,
you saw the spark before we knew that it was there —
Class 5B is singing, can you hear us everywhere?
Many countries mark the day: India on 5 September, the birthday of the philosopher and teacher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan; many schools elsewhere on World Teachers' Day, 5 October; and other countries on dates of their own, listed in the table on this page. Wherever you are, the tone works the same: upbeat pop for a class sing-along, a gentle acoustic song for a teacher who is leaving, and lyrics that stay respectful, with the jokes kept on the homework pile.

Yes. List them by name with one detail each — the PE teacher's whistle, the librarian's quiet voice — and ask for a verse that runs through them, with a shared thank-you in the chorus.
Yes. One person creates the song with everyone's memories in the description, then shares the link with the class chat. The link plays in any browser, so nobody needs an app.
Yes. Songs can be sung in more than 40 languages, so a class can write the description in English and still have the song in Hindi, Tamil, Malay or the teacher's own language.
